What is PDO?
Polydioxanone is a fully absorbable suture that has been used for more than 20 years in orthopedics, surgery, plastic surgery, and ophthalmology. PDO threads have a high safety profile, complete absorption, and minimal tissue reaction. PDO threads can reposition sagging skin while also stimulating collagen and elastin production.
PDO Threads Treatment
The PDO thread is inserted into the subdermal tissue for temporary support of the area being treated. Over the next 6 months, the PDO threads dissolve, creating collagen, elastic, and hyaluronic acid. The skin becomes thicker, tighter, and smoother; giving you a more youthful look. Barbed threads are used to reposition, lift, and secure static, sagging skin. Smooth threads repair and tighten wrinkled, crepey skin by replacing and adding collagen and elastin to damaged areas, resulting in a smoother, plumper appearance.
